The four differences that actually decide it
The entry tier is not the same product
Both call their first plan Starter, and both list 50 prompts, which makes them look equivalent in a feature grid. They are not. Profound's Starter watches one engine; Peec's watches three of your choosing. If you compare these two rows on prompt count alone you will draw exactly the wrong conclusion.
Seats break the comparison for teams
Peec includes unlimited users on Starter, Pro and Advanced. Profound gives one seat on Starter and three on Growth. For a solo consultant this is irrelevant; for a five-person marketing team it can decide the whole thing before anyone opens a dashboard, because the seat limit alone forces a tier upgrade on the Profound side.
Only one of them lets you budget
Profound publishes $99 and $399. Peec publishes nothing at any self-serve tier. That cuts both ways: a published price is comparable and needs no meeting, while an unpublished one is sometimes negotiable and sometimes higher than you expected. What it does mean is that you cannot put Peec into a spreadsheet against anything until you have contacted them.
Prompts and responses are different units
Profound publishes both, and the relationship is worth understanding: 50 prompts at Starter is 1,500 responses, and 100 prompts at Growth is 9,000 — consistent with each prompt being run daily against every engine in that tier. Peec publishes prompt counts only. A prompt allowance means nothing until you know how many engines it is multiplied across and how often it runs.
Who wrote this
Georion is an AI visibility platform and therefore a competitor to both tools on this page. It is deliberately not part of the comparison above, and none of the figures in it come from us — every one is linked to the vendor's own pricing page.
For completeness: Georion publishes $69 and $179 a month, tracks 5 and 12 prompts at those tiers, and covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot. On prompt monitoring alone that is more expensive per prompt than either tool here, and Georion does not currently query Perplexity. It is built for teams consolidating monitoring with SEO, content and attribution rather than for buyers shopping monitoring on its own — which is what most people comparing these two are doing.

This cannot be answered from published information. Profound publishes $99 a month for Starter and $399 for Growth, both billed yearly. Peec AI publishes no monthly price at any tier, only a 15% annual billing discount. Any Peec figure quoted elsewhere is a third party's claim rather than the vendor's.
How many AI engines does each one track?

Do either of them offer API access?
Only on their top tiers. Profound lists API access and SSO/SAML as Enterprise features, absent from Starter and Growth. Peec AI lists API access and single sign-on under Enterprise as well. If an API matters to you, both conversations start at the enterprise tier.
